Robert Dale Kuiper

June 15, 1954 — May 18, 2022

ROBERT DALE KUIPER, was born on June 15, 1954 in Sheldon, Iowa to James Robert and Peggy Lois (Hadfield) Kuiper. Growing up, he lived in northwest Iowa and enjoyed playing baseball and getting into mischief. He was very close with his beloved grandfather, Dale Hadfield and had very fond memories of spending time with him as a child. “Bobby Dale” was very spoiled by his grandpa! After graduating from high school in Sioux City, Iowa, he moved to Lake Benton, Minnesota. Robert then landed in Holland, Minnesota, the city he was proud to call home for over 40 years. He worked for Lange Hardware in Pipestone for many years doing heating and air conditioning repair. After suffering a series of strokes in November, 2021, Robert was diagnosed with Stage 4 NSCLC in January, 2022. At that time, Robert moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin to live with his daughter, Amber, until his health declined requiring him to return to Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone in late April. On May 18, 2022, Robert passed away peacefully at the age of 67 years 11 months and 3 days.

He enjoyed watching softball in Holland and was an avid baseball card collector for many years. He enjoyed shooting at the hoops at the court in Holland and liked to brag about his HORSE wins. He enjoyed listening to the Minnesota Twins. His daily schedule revolved around sports talk radio. He was never far from blaring AM station or his Sirius Radio playing in the van while he sat in the back and fished or spent time with friends. He was a very good cook but was most famous for his filet mignon, homemade pizza and most of all, his popcorn. (The secret is bacon grease and soy sauce!) Above all, his passion was the Green Bay Packers. Even as a child, he loved the Packers. Everything he wore was green and yellow. Everything in his house was Packers. He even painted his house in Holland green and yellow and proudly displayed many Packers flags. He took pride in driving around Holland with his flags affixed to his van after a Packers win. And usually stayed inside his house if the Vikings happened to win by some miracle. Some of his best memories and stories revolves around his trips to Lambeau Field to watch his beloved Green Bay Packers - win or lose he had a great time. “Big Bob” was truly one of a kind.

Robert is survived by his children, Amber (Brent) La Crosse, Wisconsin, Bobby Kuiper of Edgerton, Minnesota; siblings, Rick (Julie) of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Judy (John) Hayward of Battlecreek, Iowa; grandchildren, Kaylee (Thomas) Hamling, Brayden Kuiper, Carl Haag, Breylon Kuiper, Kade Moffitt, Jayse Kuiper and Rayah Kuiper; great grandchild, Diandray Hamling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peggy Kuiper and Jim Kuiper
