Ron Erickson

Ronald Ferdinand Erickson was born January 22, 1934 to Edward and Clara (Kindt) Erickson. Ron enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving as corporal until his honorary discharge.

Upon his return home from the service Ron started farming on his own. On November 10, 1957 he married the love of his life, Fay Krause. They farmed alongside each other as a team. Farming the land and raising livestock, until their retirement in 2012. They sold the acreage to their grandson Craig, along with his beautiful family they still live there today.

They moved into Pipestone, Ron continued to be active in retirement. He took a daily drive to check on his sons and grandsons to see what they were busy doing on the farm. Part of his daily drive included stopping at Staci's bar in Woodstock to visit with the morning coffee crew. And get the latest information on the neighborhood. He truly enjoyed the trips into Woodstock and meeting up with his friends for coffee.

Ron was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, serving as council chairman, treasurer, usher and Sunday school teacher. He also served on the board of directors of the Woodstock elevator. Working part time at the sale barn for 20 plus years as the scale operator kept him very busy. Ron's past time was bowling on a league for over 40 years. First on the Holm's Motors team, and then later bowled on the Hartquist Funeral Home Team.

Ron passed away peacefully at the Pipestone County Hospice House on August 10, 2026 at the age of 92 years 6 months 19 days.

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Fay; parents Edward & Clara; and siblings Gene Erickson & LaVonne Callahan. He is lovingly remembered by Judy Erickson, Marshall, MN; Gary and Laurie Erickson, Holland, MN; Timothy and Linda Erickson, Pipestone, MN; Mark & Ashley Erickson, Holland, MN, and their children Hailey, Grace, & Logan; Craig and Raeann Erickson, Woodstock, MN, and their children Hope, Norah & Madalynn. Brother Dale and Carol Erickson; along with many nieces and nephews. Blessed be his memory.
