Rosalee "Tootie" Facile

Rosalee "Tootie" Facile, lovingly known by family and friends as "Tootie," passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Rosalee was born to Edward and Rosalyn Heinemann and grew up in Garretson, South Dakota. She graduated from Garretson High School in 1957 and, later that same year, married the love of her life, Dale Facile, on November 7, 1957, in Garretson, South Dakota. Early in their marriage, Rosalee and Dale lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota before moving in the early 1960s to a small hobby farm just outside of Jasper, Minnesota, where they spent more than 60 wonderful years together building a life and raising their family. In the summer of 2022, they moved to a townhome in Brandon, South Dakota, and in the spring of 2024, Rosalee moved to Avera Prince of Peace Community Assisted Living in Sioux Falls.

Rosalee was affectionately nicknamed "Tootie" early in life, and the name stayed with her forever. Most people knew her by that special nickname. She enjoyed ice skating and roller skating in her younger years and carried her joyful spirit throughout her life. Over the years, Rosalee worked at several businesses in Jasper, Minnesota. She served as a clerk at the local drug store, worked as a receptionist at a veterinary clinic, and later worked at the grocery and convenience store. She was known for her friendly smile, hardworking nature, and kind heart.

Rosalee was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Minnesota before it closed, then she regularly attended St. Leo's Catholic Church in Pipestone, Minnesota, where she participated in Circle and CCW. Her faith was an important part of her life and was reflected in the care and love she showed to others. She enjoyed playing card games and mah jong, doing puzzles, camping, and staying active through walking and water aerobics. In retirement, Rosalee and Dale spent winters traveling in their fifth-wheel trailer to Rockport, Texas, making many treasured memories together.

Rosalee will be deeply missed by her children; Brenda (David) Westland of Maple Grove, Minnesota; Kathy (Dale) Julius of Ellsworth, Minnesota; Brad (Val) Facile of Slayton, Minnesota; Bruce (Lauri) Facile of Webster, Minnesota; Kurt (Barb) Facile of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Barry (Tiffany) Facile of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Eleven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Gloria Wyrick of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Renee Nelson of Garretson, South Dakota; John Heinemann; Ron Heinemann; and Eddie Heinemann.
