Rosalie Shubert

Rosalie Shubert, a beloved mother, partner, grandmother and friend, will be lovingly remembered for her kind heart, strong work ethic and devotion to her family. She was a longtime resident of Pipestone, Minnesota, and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone.

Rosalie was born in Jasper in 1938. She grew up there and attended school in Jasper, graduating with the class of 1956. During her younger years, Rosalie enjoyed working for the phone company and was known for her artistic abilities, a talent she shared with her mother, Lillian.

In April 1960, Rosalie was married to Alvin Shubert in Pipestone, Minnesota. In 1961, she moved to St. Helens, Oregon. About a year later, Rosalie welcomed the first of her three children, Alethea, Diann, and Milan. Her children became the center of her life, and she worked hard to provide for and care for her family.

While raising her children, Rosalie held a variety of jobs. She worked in Pendleton Woolen Mills where she sewed clothes on a production line, then later worked at a cleaners. She eventually worked at the St. Helens Hospital as a housekeeper. Rosalie was a very hard worker and took great pride in caring for her family and doing her work well.

In the early 1990s, Rosalie returned to Pipestone, making her home there again in June of 1990. Over the years, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially sewing clothes and canning fruits and vegetables. Her love of gardening and preserving the harvest gave her many opportunities to share the fruits of her labor with others.

Thursday, August 27, 2026, Rosalie passed away peacefully at the Pipestone County Hospice House in Pipestone, Minnesota.

Rosalie will be remembered as a loving mother and a very hard worker. For the past 30 years, she was blessed with many special friendships. She and her partner, Gordon Hubner, shared a special bond and many wonderful years together.

Rosalie is lovingly remembered by her partner, Gordon Huebner of Pipestone; her three children, Alethea Liebat and her husband, Otto Liebat, of Portland, Oregon; Diann Shubert and her fiancée, Larry Elliott, of Happy Valley, Oregon; and Milan Shubert of St. Helens, Oregon; and her three grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her hardworking spirit, love for her family and the many special memories she created will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
