Scott Alan Mark was born on May 25, 1965 to Gary and Elaine Mark in Los Angeles, California, while they were there on vacation. Scott was raised in Luverne, Minnesota and graduated from Luverne High School in 1983. He then attended Nettleton College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He served 18 years in the Minnesota National Guard, training in units of Worthington, Luverne and Willmar, Minnesota.
Scott enjoyed riding horses, attending horse shows, drawing, loved doing diamond art, doing many crafts, and he even taught himself to crochet. If you didn't find him doing all that he stayed busy with, he was likely reading scriptures from the Bible and writing down his favorites. Scott loved playing ball with his faithful companion Leah. He was blessed to have her by his side until his last day on this earth.
Scott fought a courageous battle with cancer until Thursday, April 2 at 4:32 p.m., when he died while at the Sunrise Cottage Hospice House in Worthington, Minnesota, at the age of 60 years, ten months, eight days.
Scott will be remembered by his children, Stephanie (Mark) Johnson, Nicholas Mark, Jesse Mark, Madison Kramer, Noah Hellerud and Lilyan Mark; 7 granddaughters; a sister, Rhonda Farrell; a brother, Duane Mark; an uncle, John “Jack” Cragoe; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Mark; his mother, Elaine Snyders; grandparents, Jesse and Sarah Mark, and Gene and Colleen Cragoe.
No public services will be held.
