Selah Grace Den Herder, daughter of Cayd and Brookelynn Den Herder, ran to Jesus a couple of hours after her birth on June 9, 2026.
Selah was born on June 9, 2026, at 5:37 am at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho. She was a calm little peanut in the womb. Dad often called her “Peaches”, which seemed to embarrass her as she always had her hands covering her face at ultrasounds. Selah entered into this world early at 21 weeks and 5 days gestation. She weighed 15 ounces and was 11 ¼ inches long. She had long legs and her hands near her face as much as she could outside of the womb. All Selah knew was the warmth and love her parents gave her and now she is in the arms of Jesus. Her beautiful name, Selah, came from the Bible; meaning to pause, reflect and listen. This we believe to be great instructions from God to navigate this life without her beautiful little self. Selah’s middle name, Grace, was given to her because, by God’s abounding grace, we were blessed with her presence for her short time on earth.
Selah is lovingly remembered by her parents, Cayd and Brookelynn of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; grandparents, Calvin and Barb Den Herder of Luverne, Minnesota, Pam Brands of Leota, Minnesota, and Jason and Teresa Van Belle of Beaver Creek, Minnesota; great-grandparents, John and Marg Vis of Valley Springs, South Dakota, and Albert and Deb Van Belle of Luverne; aunts and uncles, Tyler and Amanda Den Herder of Luverne, Trevor Den Herder of Herrick, South Dakota, Colby and Makenna Den Herder of Luverne, Katelynn Van Belle of Beaver Creek, Avalynn Van Belle of Beaver Creek, and Bryson Van Belle of Beaver Creek; and cousins, Monte, Corey and Lincoln Den Herder, Karlee, Raelyn, Zoey and Paxton Den Herder, and Emmett and Luke Den Herder.
Selah was welcomed into heaven by her great-great-grandparents, Eldon and Ramona Walker; great-grandparents, Bert and Clara Den Herder, and Roger and Carole Brust; great-great-uncle and aunt, Gene and Garnet Burns; and great-uncle, Monte Vis.
We were beyond blessed in loving her on earth for two hours and will be remembering her precious soul forever. To God be the Glory. Amen. Psalm 46 and 67
In honor of Selah, please wear something bright and colorful to her memorial service.
