STANLEY ALLAN OLSON was born on October 9, 1940, to Ole and Meta (Schneekloth) Olson in Beaver Creek, Minnesota. He grew up in town and attended school, graduating from Beaver Creek High School in 1959. On November 25, 1961, Stan married Connie Hofelmann at the Methodist Church in Luverne, Minnesota. The couple made their home in the rural Beaver Creek area and was blessed with three children. Stan was employed at John Morrell in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for 30 years. He then went to work at the Beaver Creek Elevator in town for ten years before working at the Beaver Creek Bar for the following ten years. The couple enjoyed vacationing at their cabin in Ely, Minnesota as well as camping, fishing, gardening and spending time with the grandkids. In January of 2017, Stan and Connie moved to Hills, Minnesota. On Friday, October 7, 2022, while at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, Stan went to be with his Lord at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 28 days.
Stan was a member of the United Methodist Church in Luverne for many years. He was an avid sports fan of the Minnesota Gophers, the Minnesota Vikings, the Minnesota Twins and the New York Yankees. Stan enjoyed the work that went into vegetable gardening as he loved being able to give its produce to his friends and others in the community. His spirit will remain well in the hearts of many.
Stan is survived by his wife of 60 years, Connie; three children, Craig (Anita) Olson of Decatur, Illinois, Brett (Jill) Olson of Chancellor, South Dakota, and Rochelle Olson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Christian, Gabriel, Maya, Seth, Ryan and Jaiden; and one great-granddaughter, Adelaide; and other relatives and friends.
