Todd William Morgan…
was born Wednesday, October 12, 1960, to Robert Stannard and Joan Marie (Brockberg) Morgan at Ashton Memorial Hospital in Pipestone, MN. He was raised in his family's home in Browns Valley, MN until the age of 5 when his family moved to Pipestone. Todd attended Hill Elementary School and graduated from Pipestone High School in 1979. After high school, he attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD for one year. In late May of 1980, Todd suffered a severe stroke. He spent the next several months rehabilitating with the help of many. His paternal grandfather, Stan Morgan, was key in Todd’s recovery, letting him know he could do anything he set his mind to. That was especially true of relearning the game of golf. Todd next attended Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN for just one year because he felt that it was not the right fit for him. He finally received a diploma from the Pipestone Vocational School in Ag Banking in July of 1983. Shortly after he became employed with First National Bank in Pipestone.
On December 30, 1989, Todd was united in marriage to Sally Ann Sundermeyer at First Lutheran Church in Pipestone. The couple lived in Pipestone until 1993 when they built a home just north of town. To this union were born four children: Laurel Ann, Brock Stannard, Kirk William, and Paige Marie. In the year 2000, Todd decided to leave First National Bank to pursue a career in the Financial Services Industry. Todd became the owner of his own broker-dealer service, Stannard Financial Services, LLC. until his illness prevented him from working. On October 3, 2019, Todd was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor. He put up a courageous fight for nearly 16 months, succumbing to the disease on Friday, January 29, 2021, surrounded by his wife and children.
Todd was raised and attended First Lutheran Church in Pipestone much of his life. He was currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. Growing up he played football, wrestled, and had a special love for golf. Todd was also very involved in the band playing the baritone horn. He majored in Music Education at Augustana until his stroke took him down a different career path. Before starting a family, he was involved with many civic organizations. Todd along with his wife and children traveled extensively throughout the United States. Todd and Sally were able to visit all 50 states together. He was very committed to his family and attended as many of the children's activities as possible. Todd continued his love for golf playing in the local men's league with his best high school buddy, Steve Johnson.
