TREVOR ALLEN COOK was born on April 21, 1988 to Charles, Jr. and Deborah (Dykstra) Cook in Columbia, Missouri. He attended Elementary School in Pipestone, Minnesota, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Gautier, Missouri. As his family moved he attended the 6th and 7th grade in Spooner, Wisconsin and attended 8th grade and some of his high school career in Yokosuka, Japan. The family moved to Pipestone and it was there that Trevor received his GED in 2006. He went on to attend Minnesota West Technical College in Pipestone and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. In October 2008, Trevor became a father to his first child, Monalisa Eileen. On September 2, 2016 he was united in marriage to Katie Stevens in Flandreau, South Dakota. Their marriage was blessed with 5 children. Trevor worked at Casey’s South Gas Station in Pipestone and also the Freedom Gas Station in Pipestone for a time. He was currently working for Transport Refrigeration of South Dakota in Sioux Falls, South Dakota as a mechanic. Trevor passed away at his home in Pipestone on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the age of 33.
Trevor was a fun loving person who loved to be with his family and friends. His kids held a special place in his heart. He loved to snowboard and skateboard, and was even teaching his daughter, Kisa, how to skateboard. Trevor liked to pass the time listening to music, going on road trip adventures with his brother Taylor, playing Risk! and Stratego with friends and family, and fishing and hunting with his cousins and children. He loved playing video games; his favorite games were Final Fantasy 9 and Chrono Trigger. Trevor was charismatic, endlessly witty, and quick to pick up any task placed in front of him. He had an infectious smile and laugh and it was always a good time when he was in the room. Be it freestyle rapping or building go-carts on his Grandma Bernice’s farm, Trevor always lived his life to the fullest.
Trevor is lovingly remembered by his wife, Katie, of Luverne, Minnesota; his children, Monalisa Eileen Cook of Volga, South Dakota, Kisa Ann Stevens, Remy Zachary Cook, Aeriel Bernice Cook, Leroy Allen Cook, and Ayla Lynn Cook, all of Pipestone, Minnesota; his father, Charles Jackson Cook, Jr. of Brookings; siblings, Trey Michael (Jennifer) Cook of Brookings, South Dakota, Moiria Elizabeth (Nick) Curry of Brookings, Taylor John Cook of Brookings, Shannon Marie (Kory) Longworth of Jacksonville, Florida, and Amanda Nicole Cook of Fleming Island, Florida; his grandma, Bernice Parsons Dykstra of Pipestone, Minnesota; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Jo Cook and his grandpa, Leroy Dykstra.
