Weldon Wilfred Huska was born to Ferdinand Wilfred and Phillis Hird (McKinney) Huska on December 20, 1924 in Brookings, South Dakota. He was raised on the farmstead near Aurora in Brookings County, SD where he attended elementary school and later attended high school in Sioux Falls. In 1942, Weldon's family moved to a farm in Drammen Township of Lincoln County, Minnesota. Upon completion of his education, he helped his father on the farm. On June 15, 1947, he was united in marriage to Madalyn Cyriacks at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake Benton, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in Drammen Township. In 1970, Weldon began working as a federal crop insurance adjuster in addition to his farming. When he retired from farming in 1991, he and Madalyn moved into Lake Benton. He continued as a crop adjuster until 1995. Weldon resided the past two months at the Neighborhoods at Brookview in Brookings, SD, where he died Thursday, July 25th, 2013 at the age of 88.

Weldon was baptized and confirmed on April 4th, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake Benton. He served the congregation through his roles as both secretary and elder throughout his years there and was a member of the Men's Club. He also served on the Lake Benton School Board. Besides his enjoyment for farming, he also liked to travel, including winter trips to Arizona, playing cards, playing softball, and his family.
