William "Bill" Wilson

July 29, 1937 — February 6, 2022

WILLIAM “BILL” RUEBEN WILSON was born on July 29, 1937, to Charles and Florence (Gannon) Wilson in Pipestone, Minnesota. He grew up in Pipestone and graduated from Pipestone High School on May 31, 1956. Bill worked for Pepsi and held many positions there. After 44 years, he retired. In retirement he went and worked part time for Greg Carrow at his hardware store. Bill also drove bus for the state of Minnesota. In 2019, Bill left his family home at the age of 81. He moved to St. Crispin Living Community in Red Wing, Minnesota in May of 2019 to be near his brother and family. Bill passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the St. Crispin Living Community Memory Care in Red Wing at the age of 84 years, six months, and eight days.

Bill was a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone. He was involved in Knights of Columbus where he would help with the fair booth and was also involved in caring for plants/pots of Flowers to Beautify in Pipestone. During Bill’s early years he enjoyed trains and photography. His interest in trains continued into his adulthood. Bill built his own model trains and was a member of the Sioux Falls Train Club. He spent many years traveling to national train conventions and traveling overseas. Bill will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his brother, Robert Charles “Chuck” Wilson of Red Wing; nephews, Tom (Deb) Gannon of Cedar Grove, Wisconsin, Chris (Jody) Wilson of Red Wing, and Randy (Linda) Wilson of Lake City, Minnesota; nieces, Deb (Steve) Schmuck of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Kim (Bob Borgschatz) Wilson of Bellechester, Minnesota; many great nieces and nephews; and many great great nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rueben “Warren” Gannon and Gerald and Richard Wilson; sister, Mary Wilson; and sisters-in-law, Donna Gannon and Delores Wilson.
