Obituary for Scott Baerenwald
SCOTT DOUGLAS BAERENWALD was born on December 31, 1963 to John and Marjorie (Kennedy) Baerenwald in Pipestone, Minnesota. Scott attended elementary school in Pipestone and then began high school at the Pipestone High School. He graduated from high school in 1983. Following his graduation, Scott continued to live with his parents, helping around the house. Marjorie died on December 21, 1981. Scott remained at the home, living with his father until John’s passing on February 14, 2002. After his father’s passing, Scott continued to live in the family home. Due to a disability, Scott was unable to work, so he spent his time active in the community, attending events in Pipestone and enjoyed conversing with those he came across. He also enjoyed walking around town, visiting places such as Hank’s and Dairy King. Scott died unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the age of 55 years, five months, and 15 days.
Scott was a devoted member of First Lutheran Church in Pipestone. He was a faithful attendee and it was always noticed when he was not present. Scott enjoyed watching TV, especially sports involving Minnesota teams. He was always up to date on the latest information about the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed the weather, taking pleasure in watching the changing seasons and various weather phenomena. Scott took an interest in trains, maps, and reading about various places in travel booklets. Above all else, he enjoyed the time that he spent with his brother, Robert. The two would spend time together attending sporting events and gambling at the Royal River Casino in Flandreau, South Dakota.
He is lovingly remembered by his brother, and best friend, Robert Baerenwald of Worthington, Minnesota; his aunt, Margaret Kienast of Luverne, Minnesota; numerous cousins; and many other loving friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marjorie.
